Tara experienced her first yoga class while attending Suffolk Community College for Art. She immediately felt drawn to yoga at first for exercise but later realized the philosophical concepts gave her tools that helped to relax her busy mind. Over the years Tara immersed herself in multiple trainings and private yoga sessions to expand her knowledge of yoga which thoroughly deepened her love for the practice. Tara feels most at peace when outdoors communing with animals, nature and loves that the yoga teachings reflect that a person in touch with nature has a greater possibility of truly knowing themselves. Tara enjoys incorporating the many yoga styles she’s studied over the years into her classes. She loves telling stories of how the poses got their names and the deeper meaning and life lessons that we can apply to our own daily lives on some level. Tara enjoys giving a light hearted fun class that encourages and challenges students at all levels of practice. She enjoys chanting and Om-ing together uniting us while learning from one another. Tara is certified at the 200 and 500 hour level and has additional hours of study in traditional vedic mantra, prenatal yoga, partner yoga, children’s yoga, mental health crisis training, Reiki Level 2 healer, has an Associates Degree in Fine Art, and maintains her certifications in CPR and Licensed Practical Nurse. Despite all of those official titles and labels Tara feels her biggest teacher has been as a Mother and throughout the experience of daily life where the magic of yoga truly reveals itself.
